All good things must come to an end, and so it is with this blog. I began working on it in 2007, starting it as a support piece for Up Fanno Creek, a book I was writing about a small urban creek in Portland. Many twists and turns since then, and not a few bumps and pot-holes; but by and large, it's been a very good road and an exhilarating passage.
I brought along some great traveling companions - my wonderful wife and family - and met some fabulous people on this part of my journey. I owe them much more than they would ever know. To them I give my deepest thanks. Thanks also to the readers, known and unknown, who have taken the time to stop by.
Most of the first, and also several of the last few posts on this blog have been aimed at protecting small and struggling local wetlands. The Wetlands Warriors and other Watershed Folk who year after year work to preserve our watersheds have been a constant source of inspiration. Thank you one and all.
This blog will remain up on the 'Net until July, at which time it will suffer the eventual fate of almost all blogs and be abandoned. I am not likely to revisit again as I am no longer able to muster the energy writing even a post requires. Still, leave a comment if you wish, and I will make every effort to respond. Just don't be disappointed if I you fail to receive a timely response.
Adios and Happy Trails....
