Daughter Erica and I spent four quality days in the John Day Basin a few weeks ago. We set up camp at the Mule Shoe BLM campground, then over the next few days looked in at (1) Priest Rapids (she caught three bass, blam, and skunked me proper); Umatilla National Forest (went up a couple good trails); and Cougar Creek (one of my favorite short hikes into the skirts of Sutton Mountain). I haven't seen her pictures yet, but I suspect she got some good ones. I put together a small album of shots that you can look at here.
