Introduction

In early August I headed to Steens Mountain with my sons-in-law (Craig and Matt) for a week of hiking and poking around. It was their first visit to the area and only my fifth. It ended up being one of the most memorable trips into eastern Oregon I've ever experienced. These photos offer a little glimpse into all that we saw while we were there. If you've not yet been to Steens Mountain, put it in your bucket list. It is one of Oregon's greatest natural treasures.
